-                             Historical fencing and traditional Persian martial arts -Background: The project of “Historical fencing and traditional Persian martial arts” deals with reviving the fighting techniques of Persian warriors based on an authentic and academic analysis of techniques described in Persian manuscripts from different time periods. -Objectives: •To revive the traditional historical fencing arts from Persia/Iran based on historical manuscripts •To identify and classify all techniques related to the fighting arts with historical weapons such as sword and shield, mace, lance/spear, etc. and empty-handed techniques •To transfer the strategic knowledge of old Persian manuscripts to today’s understanding of combat situations •To understand the authentic fighting with swords and other historical weapons in a safe manner •To grasp the cultural understanding and the warrior code of javanmardi -Target groups: •Designed for all students of historical fencing, martial artists, researchers in history or any other interested party -Contents: •Studying and classifying the techniques described in Persian manuscripts •Authentic safe play and sparring in fully safe environment -Methodology: •Practicing a series of exercises and drills to understand the nature of techniques described in Persian manuscripts •Participating in research projects dealing with Persian swordsmanship and traditional martial arts of Iran -Research: The following articles on Persian swordsmanship and traditional martial arts from Iran have been published in peer-review academic, military history and cultural journals so far: -Moshtagh Khorasani, Manouchehr (2010f).  Persisches Bogenschießen Teil II.  Traditionell     Bogenschiessen, 3.
